ost: A SYSTEM LEVEL vIEW
Out-of-School-Time (OST), an initiative of the City of Philadelphia, Department of Human Services (DHS) is a network of approximately 200 afterschool and summer programs for youth in grades K-12.
The vision for OST is to create a more intentional connection between the needs of all children and youth, particularly those served by DHS and OST as an effective prevention strategy and critical community based resource.
OST will realize this vision by working to build the skills of youth practitioners to provide quality youth experiences which help young people to nurture the academic, social and personal skills needed to successfully navigate present life situations while preparing for a successful transition to adulthood.
